Gerald D. Slater, Sr., 77, of Pulaski passed away Friday, August 3, 2012, at his home. He was born in Elmira, NY the son of George and Camille Slater. He and his wife Ellen lived in Mattydale for 35 years prior to moving to Pulaski. Gerald was employed for 21 years with the Corenco Corp. and he retired after 15 years with the R & R Janitorial Service. He loved fixing things and camping. He and Ellen spent the last 12 years at the Spanish Main RV Resort in Thonotosassa, FL where Gerald was on the resort’s horseshoe team. Survivors: his wife of 59 years, Ellen E. (Dickinson) Slater; two sons, Gerald D. (Michelle) Slater, Jr. of Liverpool and Carl L. (Mary) Slater of Baldwinsville; two daughters, Debra L. Fortino of Baldwinsville and Melissa J. (Michael) Perotti of Lakeland; three sisters, Jane H. Machmer of Horseheads, and Sarah M. Atkinson and Viola Perry both of Arizona; grandchildren, Daniel R. (Sarah) Slater David F. Slater, Gerald D. Slater III, Jennifer L. Fortino, Joseph C. Slater, Kaytlyn M. Perotti, Kimberly A. (Daniel) Bittel, Mykayla R. Perotti, Nicole M. (Tracy) Krivan and Richard A. (Kelly) Kaiser; great-grandchildren, Adam, Aiden, Brennan, Lauren, Liam, Nate and Nick; several nieces and nephews. Services: 11:00 am Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at the Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours are 4-7pm Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at the funeral home, 93 Downer Street.
