My deepest sympathy to Chesters children and his family. I have known him to be a very likeable neighbor who always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face! You will be missed. My condolences to Sarah. Take comfort in the time you had together. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Elizabeth

Dear Lorraine & family, My prayers are with you and your family. As you know, I lost my baby brother the same day. I know how difficult this time is, but am sure they are together in a peaceful place and are now guardian angels looking out over children, Michael and Jayden. My mom also wanted to send her love to you and your family. Our prayers are with you all. Love Bonnie & the Griffin family

I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Chesters passing. I know he and Aunt Sarah had a wonderful life together, and he will be greatly missed. Aunt Sarah never failed to include his name in her letters and cards. I would have loved to have met him. God be with all who knew and loved him.

Chester was the love of my mom's life and he felt the same way. They had a love that people wish for. Chet has been part of our lives for 24 years and he will definitely be missed by our family. I know that Chet is in heaven dancing with the angels. RIP Chester, we love you. It has been a pleasure having Chet in our lives. He has been wonderful to our Mom. Thank you just for being you Chet.

Chester Thompson, my Dad, had a zest for life! He was an extremely proud man always willing to lend a helping hand yet never asked for help himself. He was invincible, stubborn, independent, kind hearted, hard working... You would never hear him complain about anything! My Dad was a very good friend, a great listener, and a proud father! It was extremely tough to watch a strong man that loved life so much have to surrender himself to a slow death sentence. I told him he didn't have to continue radiation, but he insisted "yes, I do"! He so wanted to be here on earth with us! Dad, I pray that now you are enjoying Heaven and all of your loved ones that have gone before you! I will never forget some of your sayings like when I would ask how you are and you would always say "Not bad for a young fella like me" Or, when I would have a cough, you would ALWAYS say "Its not the cough that carries you off, its the coffin the carry you off in" Please give Mom a hug and kiss from me!! I love you both so much!!! Lots of Love, your daughter, Lorraine

Our family was fortunate enough to have Chester for over twenty four years. The love he shared with my mom (Sarah) was obvious to all. They shared wonderful times together both here and in Florida. Chet was Mom's hero and knight in shining armour. He loved to fish and never ever complained. Chet was a special angel that looked over my mom for all of those years. Our family enjoyed his love and his dedication to our Mom, Grand Mom and Great Grand Mom. Chester was a true American who proudly represented the values and dedication of his generation. Rest in Peace Chester.

Chet was a best buddy when I served with him in the 89th Infantry Division during WW II. We walked from France to the Eastern border of Germany. Chet was soft spoken, always optimistic, three years older than me and a great guide for me along the way. Rest in Heaven Chet.
