Sebastian Ben Lea, 94, of Waterville, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011 at home. He was born in New London, CT and lived in Baldwinsville for several years before moving to Waterville in 1998. As a young man, Ben traveled with the Civilian Conservation Corps where, among several projects, he helped build the Grand Coulee Dam in Washington. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and retired from IBM in Poughkeepsie after 25 years. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 54 years, Josephine Lea, in 1998.
Survivors: daughter, JoAnn (Anthony) Mariano of Waterville; sons, Gerard Lea of Idaho and Peter Lea of Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services: 11:00am Friday, November 11, 2011 at St. Mary's Cemetery, Baldwinsville. There will be no calling hours.
