As a father of a serving member of the USN, every time i see the heart wretching news of another young hero,it brings me to tears. May your sorry be lightened by the fact your son is a Hero! That he had to courage to do the right thing. He will not recede in memory but grow in the retelling of the happy times spent with him. God give you the strength to overcome the agony of this loss

My son Sean became a friend of your son Kyle at Marine Barracks DC where they served(and had fun)together. Your family and Theresa have been on my mind and prayers every day since I learned of Kyle's death. Today you and Kyle will be honored at Arlington and I pray that the incredible ceremony will bring you all some joy and some peace. My Sean had the OK to attend with other Marine brothers but was later told he had to work (typical Marine Corps). He plans to spend time with Kyle at Arlington on Sunday, reading to him and "downing a couple beers". He said to me: "Kyle would like that Mom". I know you did everything I did to try to protect your son and change his mind about joining the Marine Corps. Like my son, he could not be persuaded by our bribes, our guilt, or our tears! He unselfishly chose to do what most of us could not imagine doing for even one single day. Thank God for Kyle and others like him who make that ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. God bless him and all of you! On July 4, we erected a new flag pole on our beach, in Kyle's memory. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers as I think of Kyle not just as a tough Marine who gave it all for our country, but also the fun-loving young man you knew and loved.

Rick and family, I have just heard through the King of Kings grapevine that we have lost another of our extended church family. The Moss family moved from the Syracuse area many years ago, but warm memories endure. I am so sorry to hear about Kyle's loss. Your family provided ours with great comfort when we lost my dad so many years ago, and I wish I could do the same for yours. While I did not know Kyle I do know that any who so willingly and proudly served our country deserves all the respect, honor and love we can muster. When I visit my dad at Arlington I will surely make a visit to Kyle. Best wishes always to you and your family in this sad time.

To the Schneider Family, you raised a son, a Bville Bee and a U.S. Marine. All of this tells me he was a fine young man. Those of us who enlist in our Military do so to satisfy an inner feeling, to protect our country and our loved ones. Some give the ultimate sacrifice for that duty. Kyle was one. Know that if he had the chance to do it again, he would. I have viewed pictures posted by my family, and am extremely proud of support of my hometown and surrounding area for you and yours. Damon Kemp - Camp Dwyer Afghanistan posted a condolence
Thursday, July 7, 2011
I would like to express my deepest sympathy and sorrow for the loved ones of Kyle Schneider. I am actually stationed at Camp Dwyer in Afghanistan. While I am no longer active duty military, I am a retired Navy Chief. June 30th is my birthday, and I had just called through to the US to talk to my wife and daughters when a Marine came into the phone center and stated that we had 2 minutes to complete our calls because the base was going to "Rivercity".
Rivercity means that all non-secure internet and phones are cut off. It is never a good thing. At that point my heart sank. Not because I would be unable to talk to my family, please don't think that...... because I knew that a family would be getting contacted about the loss of a loved one.
It is particularly painful to me that Kyle died in an IED attack. I actually work at Dwyer to counter the Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Device threat. I do everything in my power to take that tool out of the toolbox of the enemy, but the enemy finds other tools........I fervently wish that I could do more. I wish you had Kyle safe and home.
