Malcolm E. “Slim” Prouty, 90, formerly of Baldwinsville, passed away Sunday May 29, 2011 in Gulf Breeze, FL. He was born in Syracuse and was an Army Veteran of WWII. He was a self-employed carpenter for many years and retired in 1985. Malcolm was a long-standing member of the Carpenter’s Union Local #747. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Grace L. Prouty in 2008. Survivors: his son, Malcolm R. of Gulf Breeze, FL; daughter, Carol A. Rathbun of Phoenix, NY; brothers, Gerald and Gordon of Liverpool, and Leland of Syracuse; sister, Thelma Muldoon of Baldwinsville; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2011 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Belle Isle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to your favorite charity.
