I grew up with Ace and Ellie as best friends of my parents. We had some great times together. I don't know if I ever met a man I admired more than Ace Thomas. The words "salt of the earth" come to mind. Although Ace is no longer with us, I for one will never forget him. Our deepest sympathies to Ellie, David, Rod Steve and the rest of the family.

We were unable to come to the calling hours or funeral as we both have been ill with the flu and did not want to pass it on to you. Wednesday, January 19, 2011
Let me start by saying that both Kathie and I are so very sorry for the loss to you as his family. I know that all of you, the people closest to him, were his whole world and so it should be. What I am most touched by is that Asa stopped at my oldest son's house, Kathie and my old home, looking for me this past Fall and I never heard about that untill recently. I have never gone by on Lamson Road without thinking of him, his great family and the great talks we used to have at the Hosler Agency. Unfortunately, Kathie are in Florida untill April and we will be unable to attend the services for a man I considered a good friend. If the good old New York weather help to make a Spring memorial service be in the future, please keep Kath and I on that short list of people who are invited. Please accept our sincere condolences in the loss of a super man. JOHN HAYES

We sure will miss Ace. He was one funny guy. Always made you laugh. We remember him coming down to Penn Yan to help us pick grapes. He left everybody (even Mennonite girl grape pickers) in stitches. Had to be one of the most helpful guys we ever met. I remember him helping me get my stuck snowmobile(in 3 feet of snow)out of the woods. What a chore! No big deal for Ace. If only 1% of the population was as great a person as Ace, it would be a much greater world. We will REALLY miss you Ace. Al & Barb
