Clarence F. ''Fred'' DeShane, 73, formerly of Reeves Road, Jordan, died Friday at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Born in Syracuse, he lived 45 years in Jordan. He retired in 1980 after 30 years as a truck driver for CABY, Syracuse. Following retirement, he was a Centro bus driver in Auburn for five years. He was a tank commander in the National Guard and a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife of 53 years, the former Theresa C. Van Slyke; a daughter, Susanne Younis of Baldwinsville; a son, Steven of Elbridge; four sisters, Dorea Adsitt of Baldwinsville, Mary Ann Lawrence of Lake Placid, Rose Van Hooser of Brewerton and Betty Sharmon of Lake City, Pa.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Services and calling hours: Private. Burial, Greenlawn Memorial Park. Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville, has arrangements. Contributions: Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse 13204.
