My deepest sympathies to Kathy's family. I had the great pleasure of having a massage from Kathy and would occasionally see her at Dr. Steve's office. I marveled at her abilities to maneuver through life's many thresholds. Her laugh was infectious, her smile reflective of her wonderful spirit and her touch was amazing. I am truly honored to have known her for the brief time that I did. She is definitely racing up in heaven and probably talking through the whole race too!

I knew Kathy in high school...I loved chatting with her as she was always happy and casual in life. She taught people to look beyond the disabilities and to see the person inside. Truly a remarkable person who is now an angel among us. My condolences to her family.

Kathy was a tremendous source of joy, inspiration, and encouragement to both my daughter and me through the years. We first learned of her when our daughter was doing research on blind athletes and saw Kathy was a local talent who won the silver medal. We made her acquaintance, and she encouraged our daughter (Kate) to get into national & international competition. They compared notes, and actually went to the 2000 Paralympics together. Kate also got into the massage business following Kathy's lead and encouragement.
Kathy's death leaves a huge void in so many people's lives - it is hard to imagine that she's gone, and she will be missed sorely!! Our condolences to the whole family as you mourn and move through life without her ready smile and positive focus.
God be with you as you move through all the "firsts" without her.

Kathy was amazing! I had the wonderful opportunity to travel with Kathy as she cycled, ran, and swam across the United States. What an amazing trip! Kathy was the most upbeat, contagiously positive, and hysterical person I have met! The lessons you have given and the people you have touched will not be forgotten. I am honored to have known you and am so sad you are not with us anymore! Thank you for crossing paths in my life, a time I will never forget! I will always smile when I think of you and be happy to know that we will meet again my friend!

She sure kept the conversation lively, sharing tidbits of her life as well as her hopes and dreams. I feel honored to have been touched by such a remarkable woman. I am so sad to hear of Kathy's passing. I went to massage school with her in 2004 at a very difficult time in my life. Her smile, unconditional love and her sweet, sweet Opie were a joy and inspiration to me, especially when I was struggling. And, Opie was a better student than some of us!!! I have such happy memories of both of them.
My heart & prayers go out to her family & friends. It's not often we cross paths with people like Kathy in this world. Thank you, Kathy for who you were in our lives.

A remarkable person; a tremendous loss. My heart goes out to Kathy's family and friends. May the good memories comfort and sustain you. I had the privilege of interviewing Kathy a few times for cycling publications, and she really did shine. I know that in the cycling world, once the wheels are set in motion by a force such as Kathy's, there's no stopping. We'll keep rolling, with Kathy's inspiration.

HER WARMTH AND TOUCH WERE SO SPECIAL AND I AM SO GRATEFUL TO HAVE FELT IT. SHE IS TRUELY AS INSPIRATION TO ANYBODY WHO SAYS "I CAN'T" AND HER MEMORY WILL LIVE ON FOR A LONG TIME. GOD BLESS!

I have never known her. I recently got into the tandem riding and blind-bicycling sport as a way to lose weight and meet new people. It sounds like I would have liked to meet her.
it is regrettable when you think about it... life as definitely more interesting with her in it.
it is her, and others like her that I am now living a life without limits for the first time. perhaps that is the message, that we live without limits.

Kathy still makes me smile...every day. I got the incredible opportunity to tandem with her across a portion of the country and I smile every time I think of that trip. Her infectious energy, her life lessons, her absolute love of life. Plugged in to her earphone and sharing stories and painting visual pictures of the horizon beyond our handlebars. She taught me a lot on that trip, much of which I am still learning. Thank you Kathy...you are a truly amazing person that will always hold a warm place in my heart and mind. You and Cara (and Michelle) are my 'three blind mice' that all gave so much and helped chang many-a-life then, now, and in the years ahead. you can never be replaced and we are forever humbled by you. Peace, love and we'll tandem again someday!!

I feel very blessed to have known of Kathy for some time. Even before I got up the nerve to talk to her, I could see what an amazing person she was. She has been a great encouragement to my own atheticism. I'd hoped to be brave enough to get on a bike with her someday. I'm sorry that I didn't get that opportunity, but I know her memory will accompany me for many more miles on my own. May your fond memories keep her amazing energy with us all in times to come.
