Cathy -- My God continue to bless you and the children during this tough time. He blessed you with a wonderful husband and father to your children, and now He will take care of you in a different way. He has big plans for Steve that I am sure we do not understand at this time. Steve worked for me several years ago, and he was such a joy to work with....one who had great happiness and positive outlook....one who was not shy talking about his family. From one mother/wife to another, lean on your friends and family around you, your children will need you more than ever. God Bless, Dawn O'Neill

Kathy, Marc, Eileen, Jr, and children,
I am so sorry for your loss. Steven was a wonder person. He was like a brother to me during our younger years, I remember the day he was born. Then life and time has a way of changing things. He was quite the teaser, I remember when he and his brother Marc told his sister, Eileen, they were going to put her first car in the pond, and their dad told them, "you arent going to do no such thing"....and Steven had a hamster that he would put in a ball and he would open the door to his sisters bedroom when I would spend the night...the hamster would roll in and scare us and he would laugh and run around and think it was so funny...He grew into a wonder young man, loving husband and father. By the many people who came out to pay their respects you could tell he was loved and respected. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers in the days ahead. Hold on to your many memories, they are yours to cherish forever. As the days are rough, lean on God for His comfort and His peace He is there for you. Love you guys, God bless.

My condolences to everyone who knew Steve...
Years ago, when a drunk driver struck a car in my driveway and pushed it into my house, Steve was the first person who showed up - not just because he was a volunteer firefighter - but because he was a friend. I had not seen him for years but he said his first thought was, "Hey, that's Don's house" and was there in minutes.
I am sure he has done the same for many others... rest in peace, my friend...

Some kids never have a father, or else have one they wished they didn't. Steve sounds like every child's wish for a Dad. I'm glad you were able to have him for the time he was here. I hope your memories of him forever help to ease your pain until you all meet again. God bless you all.

To Kathy and Steve's children,
I want to express my sympathies for the tragic loss of your husband and father. I have not seen Steve since high school graduation over 26 years ago. In some respects while that seems like a very long time ago, it really is too short a period of time to be having to say goodbye to a father, son, brother, husband and friend.
I am confident that during that time Steve shared many wonderful memories with his wife and children and while Steve was taken from you too soon, nobody can take away those shared moments and indelible memories.
To Steve's children, I want you to know that your father will be remembered by me as a loyal friend, classmate and teammate. Reading the obituary it is clear that Steve continued to possess those same attributes during his life after high school as he became a dedicated employee, an active member in his community, and a loving husband and father. In short, your Dad provided a strong example for you follow and to live by.
May God bless you Kathy and your children and may He provide comfort to Steve's Dad and siblings.
