Anne E. Sullivan was born “Anna Mentzer” to Florence and Edna (Voelker) Mentzer in Monongahela, PA. She was one of five siblings: Leona, William, Raymond and Floyd who pre-deceased her. Anne was married to John L. Sullivan, a Pharmacist in Watertown, NY, who died August 5, 1988, and a son, Raymond died on December 17, 1999 in Florida. Anne worked as an accountant for Faichney Instrument Co. and Chesbro Ponds in Watertown, NY. She was also an accountant for the Oswego County and Onondaga County Offices of the Aging. Prior to her marriage, she studied violin and performed in an orchestra in New York City. Anne had a remarkable memory, even into her 90’s and was a vivid storyteller of times past. She died as she lived her life, surrounded by her beloved family, who are better off for having known her. Survivors: four children, John (Irene Lallas) of Ann Arbor, MI, Marianne Strom of Shrewsbury, PA, Jennifer (Romey) Astafan of Baldwinsville and Jerry (Mui) of Vista, CA; twelve grandchildren, Devin and Brent Sullivan, Sarah and Jason Strom, Michael, Aaron, Sydney and Suhail Astafan, Tyler, Anita and Samantha Sullivan, and Eric Ray Sullivan.
