Reading the list of responders, I see Mrs. Lois Perkins, and I feel compelled to share a story. I'll try to keep it short... In addition to working at LHS, Mrs. Perkins had two children (Ricky and Amy) who attended about the same years I did. We were taking driver's ed class in senior year, and part of the class work involved doing a special project. Ricky had the excellent idea of doing a demonstration for how to change a flat tire- and what better place to do that than the high school auto shop (run by Mr. P.) I happened to be there when Ricky brought in the car that would be used for the demo. He put the car on the lift, laid out the necessary tools, and went to get the drivers ed. class to watch his presentation. Soon as Ricky was out the door, Mr. P. brought out the air powered lug wrench, and proceeded to tighten the wheel lug nuts to some crazy amount that Superman himself could not have loosened. Ricky returned with his entire drivers ed. class. With everybody watching, Ricky picked up the regular lug wrench and proceeded to grind his teeth and contort his face and make a variety of noises in effort to loosen the lug nuts. After a couple minutes and a good laugh, Mr. P. handed over the air powered lug wrench, and Ricky's demonstration proceeded as planned. Everybody in the class left with a happy memory, and all knew how to change a flat tire.

Sincere condolences to the Potucek family. I graduated LHS in 83 and had "Mr. P" for small engine class and auto repair class (then called "power mechanics"). Mr. P. treated me with respect (and humor) and taught me knowledge that turned into a hobby interest in sports cars and automobile repair. I recently finished major repairs on one of my cars, and thought of Mr. P. as I completed the work. Hope you don't mind if I screen capture one of the slide show images and display it among my tool collection. Very fond memories of an exemplary man. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Susan and Roy's Family,
Our sincerest condolences to you over Roy's passing.I taught English in House III and always enjoyed the "IA Boys" coming up to the third floor. They were all a fun group and Roy''s smile and greetings were always a joy to see. This past year, Roy and I saw each other at the chiropractor during the day and we'd chat about our retired lives and our aches and pains! I hope you are comforted by your wonderful memories of Roy at this time. You remain in our thoughts and prayers. Juli and Fran Bliven

I had "Mr. Potucek" for Basic Electronics class in 1972.He was nothing but fun loving and very encouraging. Now after 4 years in the Navy and almost 30 years in the Electronics field , i've thought of him over the years how he made me resolder that circuit board untill my first project worked.
May God Bless his Family during this time.

Dear Aunt Diane,
We will dearly miss Uncle Roy. I will never forget the summers that I spent at your house with the two of you. Dakota talks about how much she misses him already. He was wonderful and in Dakota's words "he is now our angel." I love you and we are always here if you need us.

I was so sorry to hear of Roy's passing. I worked with him at LHS. We shared one class years ago called Intro to Occ, and we often shared our frustrations with the course and managed to laugh about it as well. My deepest sympathies to the whole family.

Our memories of Roy go back to attending his and Diane's wedding.Staying at Uncle John and Aunt Joan's, we helped Roy get ready for his big day. Also remembered was Roy's mini farm where he built his pole barn and the exercise area for Diane's horse.
We saw Roy and Diane when attending the Potucek Family reunion of 2002, again in 2005 at our anniversary and then in 2007 at Steve and Joyce's anniversary.
Our prayers go out to Diane and Christopher.
