I had the wonderful pleasure of working with Don while he resided at Park Rose. Between exercises we shared our many memories of Baldwinsville - so much that our sessions typically ran overtime. Despite his prognosis Don had an incredible sense of humor and a determination to live independently for as long as possible. I am blessed to have known such a wonderful person.

Don and I worked together at Baker High School. He was a caring and good friend and a survivor. I extend my sincere sympathy to his children and family. He will be missed and has been a help to many of the young people as they passed through their high school years.

Please accept my sympathy for your loss. I knew Don twice in my life, in High School as my counselor from 1972 to 1975 and then with my mothers passing in 2004. He was an amazing man with a smile that could always warm anyone who was near him. He was a great asset to Baldwinsville as a friend, counselor, and person of great strength and beliefs. He will be missed!

I too, had Mr. Cahill for a guidance counselor and even worked with him in the guidance office while I was a senior. He always made me feel proud of what I was doing and encouraged me to attend SUNY Canton to which I did and loved every minute being there. I am teaching today thanks to his guidance and support. He was a great man to know! :-)

Don was just plain "great!" He tried his best to talk me out of dropping out of high school and joining the army. Years later when I was discharged he helped me to get my GED and later still was instrumental in getting me into college.
It kind of scares me to think of where I might have ended up had he not taken such an interest.
He will be both missed and remembered.

To Donny and his entire family I want to express my deepest symapthies. I know Don and his father for most of my life. We started in Pop Warner football with his father and mine being coaches. Later he was my guidiance counseler at Baker High School. I have always found Mr. Cahill to be a warm hearted and a generous man. He will be missed deeply for all those who have known him. God Bless to you Mr. Cahill!!

I remember Mr. Cahill when I was a student at Baker (1983-1985). He always had a warm smile for any of us that came into the guidance office, and made you feel that he was genuinely glad to see you. He made alot of students feel that way.
