Oscar L. Bennett, 86, of Baldwinsville, passed away Monday, August 31, 2009 at VanDuyn Home & Hospital. He was born in Harford, PA and moved to Baldwinsville in 1951. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and worked as an Electrician, retiring after 40 years. He was a member of the IBEW Local Union #43 and was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Baldwinsville. Oscar was also an avid pilot and owned and operated a Cessna 150 airplane. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 65 years, Thelma R. Bennett in 2008. Survivors: five daughters, Kathleen “Kasey” Arnobit of Baldwinsville, Maureen Jones of Hinsdale, NH, Marilyn Naughton of Anderson, SC, Candy Blanchard of Boiling Spring, SC and Lynnette Bennett of Memphis, NY; three sons, Gary of Phoenix, NY, Jim of Fort Wayne, IN and Alan “Bud” of Vernon, NY; a sister Beulah Alger of Norwich, NY; a brother Harold of Vero Beach, FL; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 11:00am Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville. Burial in Jacksonville Cemetery, Lysander. Calling hours are 4-7pm Friday, September 4, 2009 at the funeral home, 93 Downer St. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lysander Fire Department, 664 Lamson Road, Baldwinsville, NY 13027-8642 or the Temple Baptist Church, 2295 Downer St., Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
