Obituary of Oscar L. Bennett

Oscar L. Bennett, 86, of Baldwinsville, passed away Monday, August 31, 2009 at VanDuyn Home & Hospital. He was born in Harford, PA and moved to Baldwinsville in 1951. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and worked as an Electrician, retiring after 40 years. He was a member of the IBEW Local Union #43 and was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Baldwinsville. Oscar was also an avid pilot and owned and operated a Cessna 150 airplane. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 65 years, Thelma R. Bennett in 2008. Survivors: five daughters, Kathleen “Kasey” Arnobit of Baldwinsville, Maureen Jones of Hinsdale, NH, Marilyn Naughton of Anderson, SC, Candy Blanchard of Boiling Spring, SC and Lynnette Bennett of Memphis, NY; three sons, Gary of Phoenix, NY, Jim of Fort Wayne, IN and Alan “Bud” of Vernon, NY; a sister Beulah Alger of Norwich, NY; a brother Harold of Vero Beach, FL; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 11:00am Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville. Burial in Jacksonville Cemetery, Lysander.
