Charles Kratz, 74, of Syracuse passed away Friday, July 24th, at Veterans Medical Center. Charles served in the Navy. He served during the Korean War, where he was discharged in Jan., 1956. Charles retired from Carrier Corporation where he was a Tool & Dye Maker. He was a life member and Past Commander of the VFW Post 7325 Constantia. Charles was Past President of the Syracuse USBC Bowling Association and is currently a director. His passion in the association was the BVL. He was secretary on the Onondaga Beagle Club where he was honored as a life member. Charles served as secretary for many bowling leagues and is a retired firefighter from Lakeside Fire Department. He is predeceased by his father and mother, Richard and Erma Kratz, a sister Betty Proper and brother Bill Graf. Survivors: His wife of 53 years, Dianne (Needham) Kratz of Baldwinsville. 5 sons; Richard (Kris) Kratz of Whitney Point, Chuck (Carol) Kratz of Auburn, David Kratz of Baldwinsville, Mark (Jane) Kratz of Baldwinsville and Bill (Angela) Kratz of Baldwinsville. 2 daughters; Nancy (Nate) Kratz of Montezuma and Debora (Steve) Deuel of Baldwinsville. 2 brothers, Richard (Louise) Kratz of Syracuse and Ronald (Judy) Kratz of N. Syracuse; 24 grandchildren and 12 great Grandchildren. Services: Monday, July 27th, 9:30am at Falardeau Funeral Home, Inc. Baldwinsville and 10:00am at St. Augustine’s Church, Baldwinsville. Burial, Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay. Calling hours are Sunday, July 26th, 2-5pm at the funeral home, 93 Downer Street, Baldwinsville. Contributions: In leiu of flowers, contributions to either the BVL or Syracuse Youth Bowlers Scholarship Fund, 715 Old Liverpool Road, Liverpool, NY 13088, C/O Dianne J. Kratz.
