Jim, John, Kathryn, Jean,
I am so sorry to learn of Margie's passing. She was an amazing person and I so enjoyed her wit and humor. I was honored to be at the births of the children. And how proud she was of each of you! She will always be remembered with fondness. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I will greatly miss Margie's wit and creativity. She could see humor in just about anything and could then convey it to those around her. That's a rare gift and a great loss. My prayers and sympathy are with all of you.

Margie was the inspiration for many of her students to pursue the arts as a career. Her humor made the sometimes dull topic of Art History come alive, and her quiet suggestions led many a fledgling painter or ceramicist to do things they never thought they could do.
She was, and will always be, the example I want to follow as a teacher.
She was my mentor, my teacher and my friend.

Margie was the best girl ever! She will always be younger than me. I was reading my diary from the 10th grade the other night and saw where we named the frog we dissected in biology class "Machiavelli". I remember eating pickled eggs in her kitchen. We used to come home from school and eat an obscene amount and disgusting array of food. Mandarine oranges from the can, onion dip with pringles, etc. I remember Mr. Haley's look of shock and surprise in our math class "Margie and Michele, please report to the principle's office!?" She always made me laugh, she loved her husband with complete devotion, she was a magical person. Funny, smart, interesting, clever, the most fun you could ever be. Margie was so proud of her children. We got into a lot of trouble together, much of which we never got caught for, and much of which I forgot until I was reading my old diaries (we did that? how awful we were!) and I will always always always love her.

Margie,
You will be in my heart all the days of my life. You were, hands down, the very best friend a person could ever ask for. You will never be replaced. I miss you so very much. I hope you are at peace and I'm so sorry you ever had to suffer. You deserved all the best because you were the best. I will love you forever. Sandee

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I am still in pure shock,do not know where to begin, and what to write. Margie was such a great inspiration to me as well as to the many hundreds of students that have had the opportunity to have her as an instructor. Not only did you learn alot, but received the full comedy show with it. Even though I only had Margie for only two semesters, it felt like a lifetime, something I am truly grateful for the friend I made and met. It was a difficult last semester for all of us,missing her and knowing the fight she had to endure..I myself almost gave up,but I knew she would not have. Memories and great laughs of her are what kept me going, and not a day passed without thoughts of her. She WILL be temendously missed! In her passing this is truly an example of a life cut too short, but a life that left a true and great legacy behind..as a friend and mentor. Sincerely Juliet Mackin
