Carm,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My sister, Becky and I use to come to your house for ceramics. So many memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you go through this difficult time.

I want to offer my condolences and say, "I thought Dick was a great guy." I met him through the Craftsmen Club. He was always helpful and kind and had a smile on his face.

Dear Carm and Family --
I am so very sorry to learn of Dick's death. He was great fun every Monday night when we would gather in the basement for ceramics, always telling stories and jokes and 'arguing' with my father. I so looked forward to those evenings -- rain or shine or blinding snow storms (many nights Dick would give us hell for driving out in wicked winter weather; Dad always said he just didn't want to turn up the heat!) -- being with my Dad and knowing that we would laugh with the Galimes, now matter what was going on in our lives or the world.
Dick took great pride in the molds he poured and cleaned for you, Carm, and it was great fun to listen to the two of you banter back and forth. The best nights, of course, were our party nights, especially at Christmas and other special occasions when Dick would make those fabulous whiskey sours. There were many a night that ceramics took a back seat to eating, drinking and laughing. What fun we had!
You, his family, were the light of his life and as much as he loved to talk about his children, nothing brought him more joy that talking about the time he got to spend with his grandsons. They are luck boys to have had such a special, loving grandpa.
Carm, I'm sorry I can't be at the calling hours to give you a hug in person but Mom will pass one on for me. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I know how much Dick will be missed. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
Love, Kathy (Decker) McDaniel

Carm, I was so sorry to read of Dick's passing. I have thought of you both everytime I look at something I made in ceramics. He was a wonderful man.
