Charlreane Etta Frawley Crandon, born August 14, 1909, daughter of the late Frank & Mary (Hewes) Frawley, passed away Friday, April 3, 2009 at Iroquois Nursing Home. She grew up in Baldwinsville and graduated from Baldwinsville Academy, Teachers Training Class and Oswego Normal School. She taught in several 1 & 2 room schools in the area. She married Richard Crandon in 1933. Together they owned a dairy farm in Warners. Charlreanes greatest passion was teaching and she continued to take extra courses to earn her permanent teaching certificate. She retired from the Baldwinsville School District in 1972 after 31 years of teaching. Following retirement, she stayed active for many years with the Baldwinsville First United Methodist Church, the Female Charitable Society, the Baldwinsville Grange #1251, Friends of the Library, and the Travelers Club. She was pre-deceased by her husband Richard in 1981 after 47 years of marriage.
Survivors: her daughter Rheta C. Jenks of Baldwinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: 3:00pm Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville. Burial, Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours are 1-3pm Wednesday at the funeral home, 93 Downer St., prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Baldwinsville Scholarship Fund or a charity of ones choice.
