A mans worth is measured by the lives he has touched and guided. Though I did not personally know Mr. DeMaso, I am friends with his daughter Kristen and my daughter is friends with his grandchildren. My prayers go out to the entire family. I wish I met him as he was an incredible man to have created and nurtured such a kind-hearted and hopeful daughter with a spark for life and love. May he rest in peace after his long battle.

My mother passed along Mr. DeMaso's obituary. I didn't know he had cancer, and I am so sorry to hear about this loss. Please accept my condolences and know that, as a cancer patient, I have an understanding of the frustration of the disease, and sometimes just want to scream, "It's NOT FAIR!!!" A cure cannot come fast enough. He will certainly be missed. Blessings on your family,
Toni Pauldine Diem

I was fortunate to have worked for Joe at OCM BOCES. He was a great man with a great sense of humor. I remember him telling me how much he loved retirement and being with the grandkids. He will be missed by all.

I only met Joe once, he seemed like a very special father, and husband to my neice Roberta (Bobbi), whom I have not seem in ages. Know that my heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to Joe's family and wife, whom loved this man from her childhood to this sad day.

Sincere condolences to the family. I taught biology at Cortland High when Joe was teaching there. Never saw the man without a smile on his face. Joe was one of the good guys and I'm certain he will be missed.

I felt compelled to write this note to the family of Mr. DeMaso because I was thinking of him just last week remembering what a great teacher he was. He was my teacher at Cortland JUNIOR High School in the 60's. I remember he had a moustache at the time and he used to call me Louise. I could never figure that one out! I am so sorry for your loss but please remember, he certainly left a positive impression on me as I am sure he did many others as well.

To the DeMaso Family:
Joe was a great cousin.... one of the older ones that gave all of us wisdom over the years. Although he lived a distance from the family, he was thought of and around for family functions. I am grateful to him over the past year for helping me keep my sanity about our common illness. He made me think a bit more positive that everything would work out. He had such a strong will.
We will all miss him.
God Bless You Joe and Keep the rest of the family laughing in Heaven. Say hello to our relatives up there.
