Leonard G. Knutsen, Sr., 81, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Saskatchewan, Canada and has lived in Fayetteville since 1964. He was a WWII US Navy Veteran, retiring after 20 of service. He then worked for the Manlius Military School for 7 years and also was a retired Fayetteville-Manlius School Bus Driver. He worked part-time at the Fayetteville Town Hall and was also an Antique Dealer with his wife for over 40 years. Leonard was a Past Master of the Fayetteville Central City Lodge #305 F&AM and a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite in the Valley of Syracuse. The family would like to convey a special thank you to the staff of the Oncology Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Survivors: his wife of 58 years, the former Joyce E. Robbins; three daughters, Christina (Gary) Farley of Mattydale, Nedra (Ray) Byrne of Baldwinsville and Sandra (Jared) Davis of Cazenovia; two sons, David (Beverly) of Grovetown, GA and Leonard, Jr. (Debra) of Carpentersville, IL; 12 grandchildren, Joshua, Veronica, Michelle, Leonard III, Andrea, Brandon, Gary Jr., Amanda, Sarah, Katie, David and Suzu; a great grandson, Benjamin; a sister, Myrtle (Wesley) Shostedt of Virginia, MN; a brother, Gilford Knutson of Oakdale, MN; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 11:00am Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at St. Augustine’s Church, Baldwinsville. Burial, Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours are 6-9pm Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at St. Augustine’s Church, 7333 O'Brien Road. Contributions: St. Augustine’s Church, 7333 O'Brien Road, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
