Obituary of Peter Charles Van Buren
Peter C. Van Buren, Brought into this world, November 14, 1953, Called home to God's Kingdom, September 11, 2022. Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather to his family; mentor, teacher, guide, designer, engineer, philosopher, problem solver, outdoorsman, conservationist, and humorist to many others. He left us far too early but he is now reunited with his Mom & Dad (Marie (Jenks) and Charles Van Buren).
He is survived by his wife of 30 years Michele (Cayea/Reome) Van Buren, children Jason (Christine) Van Buren, Jeffrey (Erin) Van Buren, Michele (Don) Bradley, Earle (Melissa) Reome, Samantha (Tom) Reome-Cullen, and Sheena (Carrie) Reome, his grandchildren Auriel, Austin, Isabela, Mia, Aiden, Courtney, Alex, Megan, Olivia (Van Buren), Damin, Justin, Hope (Bradley), Adam (Reome), Jason, Chase, Lucas,(Reome) Ally, Marley (Reome), and seven great grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his memory his sisters JoAnn Bertollini, Margaret Heins, and Laurie Lippke. He will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have met him. A kind, light-hearted man with a gentle demeanor that would do anything he could to help anyone. He was a man of many talents who had a knowledge of a great many things. He would warm your heart with his infectious personality and smile and charm you with his wry sense of humor.
In his professional life he made a career in the automobile industry amassing 40 years with New Process Gear in Syracuse, NY beginning in 1972 as a Quality control supervisor, later becoming a Manufacturing engineer, working his way up to Manufacturing engineer supervisor, and finally retiring from NPG in 2012 as the Tool and Gage Department manager. Upon his retirement from NPG he continued his service to the auto industry as a Sales engineer with M P Tool & Engineering of Roseville, MI. Despite a fulfilling career he found the greatest joy spending time with his family and being "Papa." Though he left this world too soon it is a better place because he was a part of it. Godspeed Papa Pete, you will be missed!
Calling Hours will be hosted by Falardeau Funeral Home of Baldwinsville, NY on Friday September 16th from 4-7 pm. A celebration of life ceremony will be held 10am on Saturday September 17th at Falardeau Funeral Home.
