So many childhood memories. I was in second grade when I moved to Barbara Lane and met Charlie. Spent our years swimming in the river, ice skating at the quarry, bike riding in the neighborhood up and down the rock walls in Rosco's driveway, sledding down the middle of the road from the top of the hill to well past Charlie's house, going to Mac's on the "Main Road" (370) for ice cream and candy, playing nightly baseball games in the road till our Moms stood on the back porches and called us home for supper, playing hide and seek after dark. Once we hit high school we had our own groups but rode the bus together each day and shared our stories. Adulthood sent us in different diections and cities but we remained in touch on and off up till the day he lost his long fight. I will always hold these memories close to my heart and am so glad I could be his friend.

Charlie was my friend for 51 years..Along damn time.He was in my wedding in 1972 along with Ed ( Easy) Ryder,Ron and Debbie Butler and of course Charlie . They are all gone now except for Patti and I..We all spent alot of time together.Our favotite hangouts were the Riverside Inn, The Forum and dont leave out Rainbow Shores. Charlie loved his family.His loving wife Dawn,and his 2 kids Jeff and Daecy Devil.I spent alot of time at there home when he was married to Riverdide Nancy.I talked on the phone with Nancy on Tuesday and we shed some tears talking about Charlie. I will miss Charlie very much and never forget him. Those years we spent hanging out drinking OVS and shots of Tequila were some of my best memories.Make sure Charlie you say hi to Donahue, CJ, Easy, and Ron and Debbie for me.They will welcome you with open arms and a BV and water.Rest in Peace my cherished friend and will catch up to you soon..Love you Charlie..Crazy Leo

Leo, what a great post! I love hearing about these great times that you, and other friends had with my Father. I remember all these people you spoke of, and of course you!
