Obituary of Richard Fabello
Richard Fabello, commonly known as Rick (90) of Baldwinsville NY passed away peacefully at home on April 1st, 2022.
Rick was born in Scituate, MA on May 29th, 1931. The son of the late Frank and Althea Fabello. He was a Korean War veteran, protecting the Panama Canal from 1948 to 1954. Rick was a retiree from Crouse Hinds as a factory worker and also was a security guard at the courthouse in Syracuse. Rick lived at Conifer Village in Baldwinsville for 20+ years until 2021, moving in with his youngest daughter Lori due to his declining health. There, he would spend his final days happy and content, surrounded by his loved ones.
Being in Rick's presence guaranteed a lot of laughs and joy. Once a year, you would find Rick at the Conifer Village flea market dressed up as a woman, wig and all. During Christmas time, he would take the role of Santa Claus, where he was always guaranteed to scare at least one great-grandchild. He was full of jokes and riddles; one of his famous phrases being "You might not always be right, but you're never wrong". He would love to share many of his life stories. Being a diehard Red Sox fan, one day, he had skipped school to go to a Boston Red Sox game and witnessed his favorite player, Ted Williams, hit a home run.
Rick was an amazing father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. His absence has left a hole in many hearts and he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife Suzette. His children: Lori, Bridget, Brenda, Cheryl and Amy. Step-children: Michelle, Susan and Don. Grandchildren: Robert (Bobby), David, Danielle, Karissa, Shayne, Jolaine, Jerika, Jenna, Jessella, Stephanie, Jessica and several great-grandchildren.
Caling hours for Rick will be held at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer Street, Baldwinsville on Wednesday April 6, 2022 from 4pm to 7pm.
