Obituary of Suk Hyon Jones

Please share a memory of Suk to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Gardener, accomplished cook, crossword puzzle aficionado, and knitter Suk Hyon "Jean" Jones passed away on January 17, 2022 at the age of 84 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Uijongbu, South Korea where she met her husband, Robert Jones. Jean immigrated to the United States in 1970 with her husband and her two daughters.

Jean had a love of flowers. People would regularly stop outside her home to take pictures of the wonderful flowers she grew in her garden. She was an accomplished cook who was known for her amazing Korean food – especially her yakamandus. She would find a way to cook your favorite food for you if were visiting. She loved cheesecake, pepsi, and had to eat a bowl of rice with every meal. Jean worked at Syroco for 27 years. She loved to play cards – especially with her friends. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter.

Jean is preceded in death by her mother Si Hwang when she was 14 and her father Pok Man Pak. She is survived by her husband Robert, her daughters Deborah Hall (Rick) and Jacqueline Qualls (John); her grandchildren Alexandria Hall, Joshua Qualls, Mallory Qualls, Emily Hall, Victoria Hall, Sun-hi Qualls, Dylan Hall; and her great-granddaughter Maya Qualls.
