Obituary of Robert Edward Hirsh

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Robert Hirsh (Bob), unexpectedly passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital Saturday, October 2nd, 2021, at the young age of 85 years old.

Anyone who ever had the privilege of meeting Bob, whether the interaction was brief or long, knows that this world has suffered one of its greatest losses.

Bob was born, raised, and well known in the Baldwinsville area, a graduate from B'ville High in 1955. He was well known for his athletic achievements, especially for starting the Baldwinsville Umpire Association and Softball Association with Pat Beaver. He went on to join the army and later on became part of the NSA in Washington, DC. Bob's life was full of accomplishments, stories, and hobbies. From being a business owner and Boilermaker with local union 175 out of Oswego to loving golf, fishing, hunting, dancing, bowling, baseball coaching, and being a boy scout leader for Troop 80. Bob was well known for his jokes, and sometimes he would leave you hanging and never tell the punch line of it. Any interaction you had with him, you were left smiling and laughing. He was so full of life. He had the warmest hugs and the most beautiful baby blue eyes. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends very much.

Bob loved all of his family and friends, but he was especially close to his great-granddaughter Bella, who he referred to as his best friend. They were joined at the hip and between tea parties, singing songs together, playing games, telling jokes, dancing, reading stories, sharing snacks, and more, they shared a special bond that you can't put into words.

Bob was truly loved by many. He was such a memorable person, and no one will be able to fill his shoes. He was an incredible husband, father, grandpa, and most of all Poppy. The world will never be as bright again as it was when he was in it. We could go on and on about the impact Bob made on the world, but there isn't enough time to share everything.

Since Bob loved telling jokes, and the only person he always said the punch-line with was with his very best friend Bella, I would like to share one of their favorite jokes together to leave you with a smile.

What was the vampire's favorite meal?... GGGOOOUUUU-lash.

Bob is survived by his wife, Patti Hirsh (Blasczienski). His children: Doug, Sue, Chuck, Bill (Babs), Karie (Kevin), and Michelle. His grandchildren: Robert, Elizabeth, Micki (Nick), Will (Kaitlin), Stephen, Ryan, Katherine, Brandi (Brandon), and Trevor. His great-grandchildren: Bella, Mia, Rhylin, Charlotte, Willow, and Brooklynn. His siblings: Dick, Amy, and Jimmy as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father Lucy and William Hirsh, brother Bill Hirsh, and sister-in-law Ann Hirsh.

Please join our family in saying goodbye to one of the greatest men.
