Sorry to read about Cal's passing.
Working with Cal for many years at Ni Mo you always knew when he was around.
One thing working with Cal was you had to know how to play pinochle. Some hard
fought battles at lunch time and talking about the boys and how they did in sports was
always enjoyable for him.
Mr. Pierce was a good mentor and pleasure to work with.

Red, Joe, Pierce Family-
Very sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I have great memories of your dad (and mine) filling in to coach summer ball. I remember we had a couple games back to back and one was in the valley on the south side and the other game was somewhere else. For some reason your dad needed somebody to drive his station wagon between games and he said does anybody know how to drive a manual transmission. I said I did so he threw me the keys. I didn't know it was a column shifter ("three on the tree") so I kind of ground the gears a little at first. Cal wasn't too happy about that but I figured it out. I would occasionally run into Cal at Ironwood in later years and it was always great to hear his big booming voice yell out "Hey Sliver, how you doin"?
Please pass on my condolences to the entire family and I hope you all are doing as well as can be expected.
Your Friend,
Mark Wilder
