Obituary of Gary T Kolodziejczyk

Gary Kolodziejczyk Sr., 63, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 16. He was born in Syracuse, and spent much of his life in Baldwinsville. He graduated from C.W. Baker High School in 1975, and completed his Bachelors degree at R.I.T. Gary worked in the banking industry for over 20 years before becoming a Certified Financial Planner, most recently with Cadaret Grant & Co. He was an avid golfer, and loved to swim and play soccer with his grandchildren. Despite taking up tennis later in life, Gary was an active member of Drumlins Tennis Club. He played regularly in both social and competitive leagues earning the nickname "Kaptain Kolo" as a USTA team captain, and "Kaptaining" his 6.0 Mixed team all the way to Nationals in Alabama in 2017. His presence on the tennis courts and comradery with his tennis friends will be greatly missed. Gary was predeceased by his father Stanley Kolodziejczyk, mother Marlene (Ceterski) Kolodziejczyk, and brother Paul Kolodziejczyk. Surviving are his son, Gary Kolodziejczyk Jr., his daughters Laura Kolodziejczyk and Erin Kolodziejczyk, brothers Perry Kolodziejczyk and Philip Kolodziejczyk, sister-in-law Krista Kolodziejczyk, granddaughter Rian Kolodziejczyk, grandson Holden Kolodziejczyk, several nieces and a nephew. Calling hours will be 9-11 am with a funeral service to follow at 11 am on Saturday July 31st at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer Street, Baldwinsville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
