Rita Stransky, 86, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully on July 10, with her family by her side. Rita was born in Frackville, PA, where she met and married John Stransky, together they moved to Central New York in 1958 where they raised their children. John passed away in 1985. Rita worked for many years at Syroco and was a member of Blessed Virgin Mary Parish where she was active in the Rosary Society and was the director of the Crusade for Priests. Sadly, she was an avid Duke Blue Devils fan ;) Surviving are her children; John (Kathy), Karen (Tony) Carapella, Lisa (Chris) Coomey, and Joseph (Kimberly), brother, Ed (Marta) Dixon, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Calling hours will be held from 4 – 7 PM, Tuesday, July 13, at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. A Requiem Mass will be held, Wednesday, July 14, 10:30 AM at St. Cecilia Church, 1001 Woods Rd., Solvay, with burial to follow in Assumption Cemetery.
