Obituary of Fred J. Hafner
Please share a memory of Fred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frederick J. Hafner, Jr., 98, passed to his rest peacefully with the Lord at home on Wednesday morning. Fred was born to Frederick and Emma Hafner on March 9, 1923, in a farmhouse on Taft Road in North Syracuse, NY. He farmed with his Father and Brother Paul in N. Syracuse before moving to a farm in Baldwinsville in 1948. They owned and operated Hafner Farms of Baldwinsville until 1994. Fred was a lifetime member of the Syracuse Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He loved to travel and spend time with his children and grandchildren. Fred loved his grandchildren immensely and had a very special way of making each grandchild feel like they were his favorite. The family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care from his Nurses: Mae Wiggins, Ertha Cummings and Queenstar Taylor.
Fred is predeceased by his parents, brother, Paul, and his former wife, Ethel.
Fred is survived by his three children, Dr. Karl (Tari) of Westernville, David (Melinda) of Baldwinsville, and Kathleen (David Wohlers) of Baldwinsville; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be private.
