Obituary of John Joseph Cox

John Cox, 69, passed away Friday at University Hospital. He was born in Utica, moved to the Syracuse area where he met his wife of 29 years, Caroline. John was a very kind and humble man, frequently giving back to the community. He was a loving and supportive father and husband, always attending his children's school and community events. John enjoyed Formula 1 racing. But, most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling with them to Ottawa and the southern States. John is predeceased by his parents, James and Margaret Cox, brother, Rev. J. Arthur Cox and sister, Jean Zeiter. John is survived by his wife, Caroline DuBrava-Cox; twin daughters, Carolina and Christina Cox; twin sister, Marcella (Wayne) Pryputniewicz; brother, Bryan (Cheri) Cox; sister-in-law, Mahalie Cox; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 4-6 pm Thursday, June 10 at Falardeau Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6:30 PM at St Mary's Church, Syracuse St, Baldwinsville. Burial will be Friday, June 11 at Slovak Catholic Cemetery, Binghamton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church where his brother was the Pastor, Grace Lutheran Church, 79 Mechanic Street, Bradford, PA, 16701.
