Obituary of James Charles VanBuskirk

James C. VanBuskirk Sr., 78, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully with his loving wife Patricia (Gargan) of 45 years by his side. He was born on March 19, 1943 to the late Myron and Eleanor (Brauksieck) VanBuskirk. After Jim's graduation from Baldwinsville HS in 1961 he joined the US Army and then pursued a career at Syroco where he worked for many years and finally retired from SSAC. Jim loved his family and friends. There weren't many people who didn't know him around his usually hang outs. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 113 in Baldwinsville and the VFW #5540 in Phoenix which both he loved. He leaves to mourn him, his son James (Teresa) C VanBuskirk Jr., daughters Kimberly and Kathleen (Tim LaMoy) VanBuskirk, grandchildren Cheyenne VanBuskirk, Brianna Wong, Jacob , Jon and Joey Sutherland, Jesse and Ashley Wilson, many great grandchildren, his siblings Richard, Ronald, Joan, Vicki, and Helen and many nieces and nephews. He was forever grateful for the care he received at St Joe's Hospital. His giving will go on because Jim donated his body to Upstate Anatomical Gift Program to help those who save lives, to make a difference. Respecting Jim's wishes there will be no calling hours but we will be celebrating his life in the near future.
