Karen Walker, 85, passed away at home Monday, March 22 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Chicago, IL to Stewart and Victoria Mogren. After arriving in Baldwinsville in the early 1960's, Karen worked at the Morris Pump Co., moved to managing the employee's credit union at the Black Clawson Co., Fulton, and eventually owned and operated "The Invisible Fence Co." of Syracuse. Karen was an active member of the Syracuse Home Volunteers, serving as president for a couple of years. In addition, she volunteered at the Female Charitable Society in Baldwinsville. Karen attended the Community Weslyan Church on Downer St., Baldwinsville. Karen is survived by her husband, James Walker; sons and grandchildren, Jeffrey (Sherrie) and their children, Alexandra and Katrin, Greg and his children, Cameo Vernier and Daniel Walker, and John (Debra) and their children, Angeline, John Paul, Danielle, and Andrea; siblings, Viki Dinsmore of Omaha, NE and Stewart Mogren of Pinehurst, NC; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 4-6 pm Tuesday, March 30 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville. A private service will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Syracuse Home McHarrie Life Foundation, 7740 Meigs Rd, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
