Evelyn Helene Barrett, 87, of Baldwinsville, passed away Wednesday, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 21, 1933, in Larksville, PA. She graduated from Larksville High School, then attended Nesbit Hospital School of Nursing and became an RN. She later changed careers and worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Elmira, NY, and retired with 27-years of service. She loved spending time with her family on Keuka Lake. She was also an avid SU basketball fan, and loved making Polish food.

 

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Barrett, in 2015.

 

She is survived by sons Joseph (Donna) Barrett and Tom (Mary Kay) Barrett; daughter Barbara Ellis (Pat English); grandchildren Danielle Barrett (Neil Germain), Jessica (John) Copeland, Olivia Barrett, Mary (Scott) Roehm, Michael (Lara) Ellis, James (Lindsay) Ellis, and Ryan Ellis, and Christopher (Andrea) Barrett; great-grandchildren Jack and Joey Copeland, Evelyn Grace and Owen Roehm, and Avery and Levi Ellis, and brothers Tom (Teresa) Kovaleski, and Tom (Kathy) Petryk.

 

The family would like to thank both the staff at Menorah Park as well as Sandy Hernandez for their dedicated care of Evelyn.

 

Due to Covid concerns, in-person services will be private and a mass of Christian burial will be streamed on Monday, March 15, 11:00 am at stmarysbville.org.
