Obituary of Victoria Lee Jones

Please share a memory of Victoria to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Victoria L. Jones passed away on February 12, 2021. She is survived by her mother, Beverly L. Nichols, her children, Brandy L. Cooper and Hunter J. Jones, and her granddaughter Annika L. Parrish. Victoria was born in 1961 in Baldwinsville, NY and graduated C.W. Baker High School in 1979. After graduation she became a registered nurse and went to work for both Syracuse Developmental Center in Syracuse, NY and Sunmount Developmental Center in Saranac Lake, NY. In 1990 she moved to Florida and secured a position with an early intervention center in Gainesville. Victoria's passion for people with special needs, her experience on the ground, and her natural intelligence, earned her a spot in the University of Florida's physical therapy program. Upon graduating from the program in 1996, she brought her degree and experiences back home to Baldwinsville. Once home, she put her degree to use at St. Camillus Rehabilitation Center as part of their Options program, later known independently as Children First, and finally Hear to Learn. She was able to provide physical therapy and emotional support to every family she touched. Victoria will always be remembered for being strong, passionate, and full of love for those who needed an extra support in their lives. It was her personal mission to provide, not only the therapy necessary to a child, but whatever love and understanding was needed for optimal growth for every family she met and treated. She was able to provide all this through her laughter, empathy, and her ability to model the behavior she wanted to see in the lives of everyone she knew. Victoria had extensive family that will love and remember her as she was. They have cherished memories of growing up together in our small town. Her children enjoy both higher education and work ethic. Her granddaughter was diagnosed with autism in 2009. In the end, all of Victoria's life had culminated in a relationship with a beautiful special needs child all of her own. All of her life's work was able to shine when you saw her with her granddaughter, and it is the pinnacle of her love here on Earth. Calling hour is 4:30 - 5:30 PM Thursday, February 25 at Falardeau Funeral Home. In her memory, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Exceptional Family Resources in the Syracuse area. They provide resources for people with special needs of all ages. Thank you to all that have loved her in return, and shown their support, and shared their memories. Vicki lives on in all of us, and we have a place next to her when are together again.
