Obituary of Arthur J. Licourt

Arthur J. Licourt, 94, passed away on February 5, 2021. Born in Fulton to his loving, late parents, Wilfred and Lena Mae (Donovan) Licourt, he lived most of his life in Baldwinsville NY. Art enjoyed boating, big game hunting, Golf, and woodworking.

 

He was Vice President of Manufacturing for Morris Pumps Inc. of Baldwinsville and Plant Manager of the Morris Unit of the Slurry Pump Division for Goulds Pumps. He was a graduate of Fulton High School and held degrees in; Mechanical Engineering Technology from Canton Tech, Professional Studies in Management and Economics from Syracuse University, and a Bachelors degree from SUNY Empire State College.

 

He was a WWII U.S Navy veteran and member of the Sampson WWII Navy Veterans, and the American Legion in Baldwinsville. He was a communicant of St. Mary's and later St. Augustine's Church in Baldwinsville, and Trustee of the Father Thomas McLaughlin Scholarship Fund. Art was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph Council, Charter member and Grand Knight of The Msgr. Leo M. Finn Council # 5082, where he was awarded the Knight of the Year Award in 1967, and in April 1996 was Inducted into the Msgr. John Daley Hall of Fame, receiving the Award for outstanding and dedicated service as a " Stalwart Leader".

 

He was a Senior Member and past president of the Syracuse chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, a Legislative Committee member of the Manufacturers Association of CNY, a Senior member of Robotics International of SME, and a Certified Manufacturing Engineer of Computer and Automated Systems Association of SME in the discipline of Manufacturing System Management and Robotics. Art was also Professional Certified in Materials Management by the International Materials Management Society.

 

He is predeceased by his wife, Lois Licourt, and sisters, Betty Keding and Barbara Jaquin. He is survived by his brother, Wilfred Licourt, children; Brian (Jessie Parker) Licourt, David (Karen Wolfe) Licourt, Chris Hirsh (Dave Roberts), Grandchildren; Erica Licourt, Nicole ( Licourt) Lamson, Lisa Janaskie, James Hirsh Jr., Hayley Licourt, 5 Great Grand Children, and step-children, Jeanne Dewitt, Dena, Christin, and Arthur Helbock

 

Calling Hours will be held Wednesday, February 10, from 4 to7 pm at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer Street, Baldwinsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Thursday, February 11, at 10:00 am in St. Augustine's Church, 7333 O'Brien Rd, Baldwinsville, with burial to follow in Riverview Cemetery. online at Falardeaufh.com
