Marilyn A Baker, 88, of Syracuse, died on Monday, January 18, 2021 at The Commons on St. Anthony, Auburn, NY. She was born in Syracuse and lived in the Syracuse area all of her life with spending 25 summers at Brennan Beach. Marilyn was a graduate of St. Patrick's School and was a homemaker before becoming a regional director for Sarah Coventry Jewelry as well as an entrepreneur with her own Baker Jewelry business. Marilyn was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church, Baldwinsville, NY, a former member of the parish council, a recipient of the Sister Pat Geary Christian Service award as well as an Associate Sister for the Sisters of St. Francis. She was predeceased by her husband, James Baker, Sr. in 2004, two daughters, Diane M. Porter in 1999 and Karen A. Neupert in 2002 as well as a granddaughter Jamie L. Batruch in 2009. Survivors: Three sons, James Jr (Marcia), of Weedsport, NY, Michael of Wilmington, NC and Joseph (Kathy) of No. Syracuse; four daughters, Patricia (Mel) Lambert of Boca Raton, FL, Julie (Ken) Svitak of Winter Haven, FL, Marie (Phil) Mazzeo of Pompano, FL and Janet (Niki) Baker of The Woodlands, TX. She is also survived by two sisters, Julia (James) Daugherty of St. Petersburg, FL, and Mary Sue (James) Wachtendonk of Madison, WI, 26 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Services: There will be no church services at this time due to the COVID restrictions. A memorial service will be held in the future once we are all able to gather together. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland. Contributions: St. Augustine's Church or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, CNY Affiliate, 5008 Brittonfield Pkwy. #300, E. Syracuse, NY 13057.
