Obituary of David Francis McCaw

David F. McCaw, 74, left us to join those who have passed before him on Saturday, November 14, 2020 after a long and heroic battle with multiple illnesses. Dave was born to Francis and Jane McCaw on February 11, 1946 in Syracuse, NY. He and his wife, Donna have been residents of Baldwinsville, NY for the past 46 years. Dave dedicated six years of his life serving our country as a member of the US Army Reserves and was a faithful and dedicated employee at Fleischman's Furniture, retiring after 23 years of service. Dave also worked for several years at Sunburst Optics in Syracuse. When Dave entered heaven he was reunited with his parents, Francis and Jane McCaw and his sister, Roseann Krom who passed before him. His memory will live on in the hearts of cherished family members including his wife of 52 years, Donna; a daughter, Kara Cross (Dan); a son, David McCaw (Lindsey); two grandchildren, Carter & Allison; and two nieces. Dave was a humbly skilled carpenter, creating many cherished pieces for his family. He enjoyed the simple things in life such as camping, 50's music, and an occasional trip to the casino when he was feeling lucky. Of all the roles Dave played in his life, being a gloating Oppa to his grandchildren, Carter and Allison was the one he cherished most. Calling Hours with social distancing will be held from 4 – 6 PM Thursday, November 19, at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville, NY 13027. Due to Covid-19, Funeral Services will be private for the family.
