Obituary of Sidney N. Dorr, Jr.

Sidney N. Dorr, Jr., 82, passed away at home on Friday, October 9. He was born in Syracuse to Charlotte and Sidney Dorr, Sr. Sid served 4 years in the US Navy and was a long time employee of Anheuser-Busch in Baldwinsville and Rumetco. Sid also ran the Baldwinsville Pop Warner Football Program for several years and coached the Midgets Division. Sid enjoyed photography and was a sports photographer for the Baldwinsville Messenger. To say that Sid was an avid race car fan is an understatement. He enjoyed everything from antique cars, dirt car racing, to NASCAR. Sid participated in the Syracuse Nationals for the last several years. Sid also loved spending time with his grandchildren and taking them for rides in his antique cars. Sid is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol Carrington Dorr; his three sons, Robert (Christine), Scott (Maria Shockney) and Andrew (Heather) Dorr; 8 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 4-7 pm, Tuesday, October 13 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville. The Service will be private.
