Donald J. Snyder, 90, passed away Sunday at VanDyne Center for Rehabilitation. He was born in Syracuse to George and Mary Snyder and lived in the area most of his life. He served in the US Navy and retired from Verizon after 38 years. Don was a member of the Pioneers and Holy Name Society and was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Baldwinsville. Don is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia Snyder; children, Stephen J. (Sandy) Mott of Clay, Michael M. (Karen) Mott of Ashland, MA, Diane A. (Bruce) Amey of Avon, NY, and Kathleen M. (Carl) Iglesias of Wilton, CT; grandchildren Kori and Adam Mott, Kelsey, Morgan, Casey, and Stephen Mott, David, Ben, and Madison Amey, and Brian and Steven Iglesias; and 7 great-grandchildren.. Don was one of those rare people who everyone was drawn to. He was kind, caring, loving and took great pride in living his faith. Calling hour is 9:30-10:30 AM Thursday, July 9 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville followed by a 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, 47 Syracuse St., Baldwinsville. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Baldwinsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
