Robert J. Peters, 76, died peacefully at his home in Baldwinsville, NY, Saturday, June 27, 2020 in the presence of his loving family. He was born June 23, 1944 in Syracuse, NY, was a graduate of Baker High School, Baldwinsville, NY and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University and a Master's degree in Zoology from Syracuse University. Bob taught in the SCSD for 30 years. After retiring from teaching, he established SRS Microscope sales and service for 16 years. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. Throughout his life he enjoyed sailing, hiking, camping, traveling, and the joy of physical fitness. In 1990, Bob rode his bicycle across the United States from Seattle Washington to Baldwinsville, NY in 34 days. Bob is predeceased by his infant son, Jeffrey, father Harold Peters, mother Lucille Paige Peters Kelsey, and step-father Richard Kelsey, sister June Peters, and brothers, Richard Peters and Edward Kelsey. Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Pfohl Peters; children, Timothy (Michelle) Peters of St. Petersburg, FL, Elizabeth (Stephen) Dupra of Clay, NY, and David Peters of Fayetteville, NY; 2 grandchildren, Emily Stone and Joshua Dupra; one brother, Terry (Pat) Kelsey of NC; and 3 sisters. Join us in remembering that every day was truly "The best day of his life". Calling hours are 4-7 pm Thursday, July 2 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville. A private service will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North St, Liverpool, NY 13088 or Beaver Lake Nature Center, 8477 East Mud Lake Rd, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
