Obituary of Patricia Ann Jarvis Riss

Patricia Ann Downs Jarvis Riss, aged 85, passed away on April 16, 2020 due to Alzheimer's Disease. She was a lifelong resident of the Syracuse area. Her final residence being in Van Duyn Nursing Home. She previously had lived in Baldwinsville and the Kirkville area. Patricia was born in Syracuse on 11/25/1934 to Mary Amelia Spencer Downs and Charles Michael Downs. She was predeceased by her siblings; Charles (Marie), Louis (Evelyn), Robert (Helen), James (Shirley), Marie (Bill) Chappell, Margaret (James)Taylor, and Elinor (Frank) Fox. She graduated from Blodgett Vocational High School in Syracuse NY in 1952 and immediately married Donald Arthur Jarvis. They were married for 46 years and had seven children: David, Joe, Donna, Bill, Jay, Gary, and Mary Beth. Donald died in 1998 at age 69, David in 1997 at age 43, and Gary in 1980 at age 18. They have 14 Grandchildren and 24 Great-Grandchildren. She chose to be a homemaker as a career. She married Peter Riss in the year 2000 and lived in the Kirkville, NY area. Peter died in 2019 at age 95. Patricia is survived by the following family: Son Joe Jarvis (Donna) with children Megan, Justin, Nicholas (Doris with children Mila, and Liliana) Angela Krueger (Matt with children Kyle, Bobbie-Jo, and William). Karen Calkins with children Kate and Courtney. Daughter Donna Bedingfield (John) with children Shannon Norman (Matt with children Kilee, Tyler, Wyatt, Alexander, Kennedy); Brian Bedingfield (Kelly with children Rylan, Kadee, Jaxon, Cason); and Taylor Bedingfield; Son Bill Jarvis (Beverly) and daughter Tonya; Son Jay Jarvis (Pam) with children Jay Jr. (Nicole), Michael with children Caidence, Aaron, and Brice; Daughter MaryBeth Darling with children LeAnn and Ashley; Granddaughter Charlene Jarvis (Daughter of David and Nancy) with children Katrina, Kassidy, and Gianna; Patricia is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Due to the Coronavirus restrictions, there will be no calling hours and burial will be private. Patricia will be laid to rest next to her first husband Donald in Riverview Cemetery Baldwinsville. There will be a celebration of Patricia's life at a later time.
