David S. Fehringer, 63, of Camillus, NY, passed away on April 4th, 2020 at Upstate University Hospital. Born in Dansville, NY on May 11th, 1956, the son of the late John W. and Barbara Fehringer. Hometown of East Aurora, NY, David grew up with a love and passion for science & engineering. Whether it was Star Trek models, train sets, or model rockets, David was always building something. His siblings fondly remember that a quarter of their basement was taken up by David's elaborate model railroad setup. In his senior year of high school, David was awarded $100 for winning "Tomorrow's Scientists and Engineers" contest in Washington, D.C. David graduated from East Aurora High School in 1974. He went on to study at Syracuse University and earned his BS in Civil Engineering in 1979. After college, he worked for the NYS Department of Transportation his entire adult life, as a civil engineer, and Project Development Supervisor. David was also very involved in ministry. He attended Mid-American Baptist Theological Seminary from 2001-2005, studying in Pastoral Ministry. David always had a big heart for others and served as deacon in his church at various points in his life. In June 2011, David retired from the NYSDOT. He now had more time to dive back into his old passion of model railroading. David was a part of the Cayuga Valley Model Railroader, and enjoyed weekly nights with his friends there, working on elaborate model train setups. David also enjoyed the tranquility and peace of nature. He would take many walks at a nearby park, as well as going up to Beaver Lake each weekend. He loved Beaver Lake the most, as he was able to get away and enjoy the beauty of God's creation. Survivors: His Wife of 33 years, Lucinda "Cindy" Fehringer; 4 children, Christopher J.
