Obituary of Michele A. Greenia

Please share a memory of Michele to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Michele A. Greenia left this world on March 20, 2020, and a new bright and shining star now resides in our universe. Michele was born on March 8, 1960 to Elizabeth and Leonard Greenia of North Syracuse. She attended North Syracuse Schools, SUNY Morrisville and SUNY Oswego. She received her masters degree in teaching/ biology/earth science from SUNY Cortland and was a high school science teacher. Most recently she was a substitute teacher in the Baldwinsville School District. Like her parents, Michele was a lover of nature. She loved hiking with her dog Jasper, searching out birds and wildflowers. She also led nature walks at Green Lakes State Park and other places around CNY. She loved puttering in her beautiful gardens, and always had a fresh bouquet in her house. Michele loved looking at the night sky, watching the moon and stars. She would text her sisters to remind them of an upcoming full moon. Michele was happiest when she was outdoors. Michele is predeceased by her parents, her brother Leonard Greenia and her sister Sharon Greenia. She is survived by her sisters, Lynn (Richard) Schneider, Laurie (Gary) Meyers, Catherine Greenia, and Mary (Guy) Nunnellee. Michele is also survived by many close cousins, and her nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt very much. She will be missed by her beloved companion, her dog Jasper. The family would like to thank Hospice of CNY for their love, support, and compassion during this difficult time. To honor Michele's memory, the family kindly asks that any donations be sent to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088. Services will be private.
