Obituary of Nancy B. Barrett

Nancy (Boyer) Barrett, 84, passed away at home on February 9, 2020 surrounded by her loving family, after a long fight with Alzheimer's. Nancy was born in Greensburg, PA on September 21,1935 to Ralph and Marjorie (Flynn) Boyer and moved to Syracuse with her family as a child. She graduated from Solvay High School and attended Syracuse University, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Barrett, on June 29, 1958, and together they raised five children. A resident of Baldwinsville for nearly 50 years, Nancy was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church and member of the church choir. Through the years, she was involved in many activities including The Village Green Athletic Association, Baldwinsville Theatre Guild, and Home Bureau. Nancy retired from JC Penney's, and enjoyed swimming and gardening and the company of her beloved pets. Most of all she loved her family and treasured her time with them. In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her son Bobby, husband Robert, and sister Peggy. She leaves behind her heart-broken family: sons Gregory Barrett and Bradley (Brenda) Barrett, daughters Barbara (John) Pedrotti and Susan Barrett, sister Judy Broome, grandchildren Robert (Jeanette) Barrett, Jason (Stephanie) Barrett, Susan (A.J.) Connors, Cassandra (Jeffrey) Cleary, Jessica Barrett, Nicole Barrett, Clarissa (Alex Williams) Pedrotti; five great-grandchildren: Ashlee, Nickolas, Logan, Luke, Stella; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 9-10:30 am Friday, February 14 at St. Augustine's Church, 7333 O'Brien Rd., Baldwinsville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Helping Hounds Dog Rescue, 7268 Caswell Ave, North Syracuse, NY 13212, or to the charity of your choice.
