Robert H. Silver Sr. passed away on February 6, 2020 at the age of 93 after a 3 year battle with Alzheimer's. Born in Buffalo, NY, he served with the US Navy in WWII. A 45 year resident of Baldwinsville and a 2 year resident of Loretto (Cunningham), Robert had an abundance of positive energy and a no nonsense approach to all things in life. He proudly owned and operated FORAR Beauty Salon and later, Hair By Forar in Syracuse. He was a real estate broker for many years and at 54, began a 31 year journey into the discipline of Tae Kwon-do, achieving his 5th degree black belt and teaching so many the sport he thoroughly enjoyed.
The patriarch of a very close family, his dear wife of 56 years Janet Silver, passed in 2004. A devoted father of 3 sons Robert Jr (wife Lori), Rod of Baldwinsville, NY and Ron (wife Kathleen) of Manchester, NY, several grand-children and great-grand-children as well as long time friend George Roney of Syracuse, NY. He enjoyed spending his free time at the family camp on Round Island in Clayton, NY.
Services will be private. Contributions can be made to Alzheimer's Assoc., 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
