James L. Johnson, 66, of Baldwinsville, NY passed away Sunday, December 15 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Rochester, NY to Lawrence and Rose Ann Johnson. Jim served in the US Air Force and worked for Lockheed Martin for 39 years. He was known for his optimism in life, influencing family and friends, and was a devoted husband and father. Jim was very involved in his children's lives and in the community. He was a member of the Optimist Club, serving as President, and was active in the First United Methodist Church in Baldwinsville. Jim enjoyed reading, brewing beers, classic rock, and SU sports. He will forever be remembered for his sense of humor and his "dad jokes". Jim is predeceased by his mother, Rose Ann Johnson. Jim is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nancy Johnson; children, Laura (Bradley) Penhollow, Kara Johnson, and Gregory (Lauren) Johnson; father, Lawrence Johnson; grandchildren, Jace and Ryan Penhollow; sister, Adelle Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 11-2 pm Saturday, December 21 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville, followed by a 2 pm service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St, E. Syracuse, NY 13057.
